Testimonials for Dr. Kate S. Kelly

"I started working with Dr. Kelly after six months of acute soreness and stiffness in my hips and lower back.  The discomfort and lack of mobility were significantly affecting my ability to play basketball and volleyball, and my life in general.  It was very frustrating to wake up every morning with shooting pains in my hips and IT bands.  I had spent a lot of time working with an osteopath and an orthopedist to try and diagnose and solve the problem, but to no avail.  I had never worked with a chiropractor before, but an old friend, who plays a lot of basketball, recommended I see one.
After only a few visits with Dr. Kelly, the pain dramatically decreased and the mobility of my hips significantly improved.  To my surprise, Dr. Kelly focused not on traditional back adjustments, but instead on the application of Active Release Technique, which really did the trick.  And she coached me with an exercise program to maintain the flexibility and continue retraining my body going forward.  I have recommended Dr. Kelly to several of my friends and will continue to do so.  My wife has started working with her for shoulder, neck and back pain.  Dr. Kelly is honest, efficient, and, being a serious athlete herself, can empathize with those who don't want any downtime from their sports.  Most importantly, she is effective."

"Dr Kelly is the absolute best. She has made noticeable improvements to my back pains and to the pinched nerve in my left arm. She has been treating my problem, not only the symptoms. I just completed a round trip 900 mile drive from Boston, MA to Buffalo, NY. The drive use to be a sure way to aggravate my back and pinched nerve but since I've been seeing Dr. Kelly I can actually enjoy my time with friends and family while in NY. I'm actually looking forward to the long drive again to attend my sister's wedding."

Dr. Kelly-
"I meant to shoot you an email yesterday to thank you.  As I am sure you are aware (and noticed), in Jiu Jitsu  people always banged up. It comes with the territory. Frankly, I didn't realize how much pain I have been in for the past few weeks until you alleviated it. I am virtually pain free today.  My shoulder and neck feel 1000% (yes, one thousand) percent better.  And I know why. Because you understand the interrelation of soft tissue, neurological and skeletal trauma and wear and tear. You practice from that perspective. It showed it your examination, evaluation and the treatment modalities you chose to utilize.  Thank you so much."

"While training for the Falmouth Road Race in May, I injured by Achilles tendon.  My primary care physician diagnosed a partial tear and referred me to an orthopedic specialist who recommended that I stop running for awhile and then try some fast walking.  At age 57, I don't have the luxury of skipping events with the expectation that next year will be more convenient.  I consulted the coach from last year's team who referred me to Dr. Kate Kelly with the assurance that she could have me ready for the race now less than three months away.   I was skeptical.   Dr. Kelly used a variety of techniques including ART and Kinesio tape, but more importantly, was consistent in her belief that I would be able to participate.  I was filled with anxiety:  my husband said that she actually was my therapist and he didn't mean physical!  The day of the face arrived and I finished without pain that day or the next.  Dr. Kelly is fantastic – I could not have done this without her."

"I finally completed my first marathon this year!  I've started to train two years in a row, but gave up both previous times because of foot pain from overtraining.  My general practitioner recommended a pain reliever and staying off it both times, much to my chagrin.  This time, I started off slower, but still started having pain again.   I was referred to Dr. Kelly and, when I heard she was a triathlete, made an appointment.  I was nervous about consulting a chiropractor since I've never seen one before, but she put me at ease immediately.   Over the past year Dr. Kelly has worked me through foot, ankle, Achilles tendon, and shin pain, and she never once told me to stay off of it.  She understood that I was committed to running and supported my training by teaching me stretches and strengthening exercises to do between appointments to help with my healing.  I knew I could trust her to tell me if I really needed to stop running, or if the pain I was feeling could be worked through.  I learned a lot about both running and my muscles from Dr. Kelly – I hadn't realized that  foot pain could be related tight calf muscles, for instance,  and just how closely our muscles and tendons all work together and are dependent on one another to work well.  Dr. Kelly deserves a huge amount credit for my getting to the starting line pain free and crossing the finish line successfully (okay, I did do the running part).  I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Kelly's knowledge and skill and support!"
